Audi just unveiled its new racing car Audi R8 LMS GT2 at Goodwood Festival of Speed. The R8 LMS GT2 is specifically designed to meet the needs of gentlemen drivers and of the newly relaunched GT2 category by SRO for the 2020 racing season.
The new Audi R8 LMS GT2 is not only more powerful than the road-legal variant, but it also weighs significantly less thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber, resulting in a dry weight of just 1.350 kilograms.
The R8 LMS GT2 is equipped with the 5,2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine unit, whose power output is of 640 hp. This value, together with a specific power output of 123 horsepower/per litre and the impressive weight-to-power ratio of 2,1 kg/hp, makes Audi R8 LMS GT2 one of the most powerful racing cars ever designed by Audi in the last 11 years.
